Mani Festo’s ‘Flightpath’ label sets off for its second release, fresh off the back of the debut ‘Higher EP’ from last year. This time enlisting up-and-coming heavyweight production duo ‘Subject Xero’.

As per the Labels mission statement, Subject Xero show a complete disregard for pre-existing ideas of genre. Their heavily distorted sound repurposes the ideas of techno in a format that takes as much inspiration from Garage, Grime and Drum & Bass as it does from the machine funk of Detroit. Their ferocious interpretation of this music is inextricably UK, despite their respective Kosovan and Thai heritage.

The ‘TERA EP’ hits hard, the title track screams like an alien dinosaur, bringing forth what can only be described as a sonic rendition of the apocalypse, whilst REAL, a collaboration with Mani Festo further pushes the blurred lines of their respective sounds into new territories.
Having recently released on Nastia’s ‘Nechto’ imprint, ‘Don’t Just’ and ‘Kohe’ they are setting a high standard for heavyweight club weapon manufacture.
